Welcome to set 1 of Ballet Barre Exercises!

Video 1: Plie in 1st, 2nd, and 5th positions

In video 1, we practice plie (both demi and grande) in 1st, 2nd, and 5th position. We also work on some stretches as well.

Video 2: Tendu in first position (en croix)

In video 2, we practice tendus, one of the most basic movements of ballet. We do tendus en croix (pronounced “on qua”), on all four sides of the barre – to the front, to the side, to the back, and again to the side.

Video 3: Plie – tendu (4th position)

In video 3, we’ll work on our tendus and plies in 4th position together with a fun combo!

Video 4: Tendu turn in, turn out

In this video, we work on our tendus again, but this time focusing on something very important – our turn out.

Video 5: Rond De Jambe (on floor only)

In video 5, we get to practice another new skill – Rond De Jambe’s! We’ll do them on the floor only (no en l’air), for both forward and backward directions. Have fun!

Video 6: Tendu – passe, coupe

In video 6, we practice coupe (foot to ankle) and passe (foot to knee).

Video 7: Degage in 1st position (en croix)

In video 7, we work on degages! Degage is similar to tendu, except we brush against the floor and lift our foot off the ground!
